10 Things I Learned From My Podcast This Month

I can’t believe it’s been a month since I wrote April’s round-up of podcast lessons. Honestly, where has May gone? It’s been a really busy month of podcasting, from recording for The Blonde Files Podcast to appearing on other shows and I’m so excited to share upcoming episodes. Thanks for tuning in if you have. If you missed any from May, here’s what I learned. Definitely check out each episode if you haven’t already!

FROM SOPHIE JAFFE

-When it comes to loving ourselves, starting at a place of neutrality is often the most manageable.

-Humans like newness! Keep doing new things in a relationship to keep it alive and fresh.

-No matter what’s thrown your way, you have to ask for what you need and be honest about that, without shame or guilt attached.

FROM BEN TALEI, MY PLASTIC SURGEON

-Don’t do threads…just DO NOT do it 😉

-Marketing ploys have long been an issue in plastic surgery; social media has just amplified the issue, using celebrities to sell dangerous treatments.

FROM BREAKING BEAUTY

-Essence waters are an important step in skincare (I always thought it was a gimmick?!).

-Some aspects of the magazine world live up to the expectations a la ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.

FROM MY SOLO EPISODE ON THE BODY

-We have to learn to trust our bodies in order to have a healthy relationship with ourselves.

-Counting macros doesn’t take into account hormonal fluctuations, your sleep, stress levels, etc.

-What we see in the mirror is usually a reflection of what we feel inside. We can look the exact same from one day to the next and one day like our bodies and the next day hate it. The real work is on the inside. When we’re focusing on that, the physical changes usually follow.
