I’m turning 40 in a few months, and these are my 5 non-negotiable, tried and true methods for sculpting, plumping and smoothing the skin at home. If you’re like me and can’t do Botox or don’t have time for spa treatments, then these tools make it so easy to maintain your skin on a daily basis. I want to know what your at-home tips and tricks are that I’m missing!
1. Face Tape
Ever since I quit doing Botox, face taping has made such a huge difference. Face tape works by gently lifting the skin to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and prevents lines from forming while you sleep. It can also retrain facial muscles over time to reduce repetitive movements that cause expression lines. Additionally, it helps to increase blood flow to the areas it is placed, improving overall skin quality when done correctly.
2. Microneedling
I recently got this 14k gold plated microneedling roller. I use it specifically for product absorption and penetration, but have noticed a big improvement in my skin overall. It’s designed to enhance skincare efficacy by creating micro-channels in the skin’s outer layer. These tiny punctures facilitate deeper absorption of active ingredients and stimulate collagen production, leading to improved skin texture and tone.
3. Gua Sha
Gua sha stimulates the flow of lymphatic fluid, which helps remove excess fluids from the face and body. This can contribute to reduced puffiness and a more sculpted appearance. Also, by stimulating blood flow, gua sha helps to deliver more nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells, which can enhance the skin’s overall appearance and promote a more radiant complexion. I love using it on my face and scalp. It really helps to relieve forehead tension and fine lines.
4. Cupping
This helps with instant plumping and de-puffing. Facial cupping uses small suction cups to gently lift the skin, increasing blood flow, stimulating lymphatic drainage and promoting collagen production. This can temporarily plump the skin, reduce puffiness, and improve tone and glow.
5. Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy stimulates the mitochondria in cells which increases energy production and enhances cell function. This process boosts collagen production, repairs damaged cells, and promotes new cell growth, leading to improvements in skin texture, elasticity, and reduces signs of aging. Think less fine lines, more even skin tone, improved firmness and a better overall glow.
