Rating Milky Toners

K-beauty milky toners are the shortcut to that soft, lit-from-within glow. Creamier than traditional toners but lighter than a moisturizer, they hydrate, soothe, and prep skin in one step. I’m rating some of the most talked-about formulas to see how they stack up.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner

Key ingredients/what it does:
Fermented black rice extract, hyaluronic acid, beta glucan, emollients (very light, not milky)
Light hydration, antioxidant support, focus on water binding hydration

My take:
Feels fresh and lightweight but the hydration doesn’t last on me. Probably better for oily skin or in more humid climates

Pros/Cons
✓ non sticky, easy to layer and use between steps
✕ not enough hydration if you’re dry or dehydrated

My honest rating:
6.5/10

TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner

Key ingredients/what it does:
Rice extract, niacinamide, glycerin and humectants, light emollients

Hydration and mild tone refinement: rice extract and niacinamide help improve skin clarity while humectants pull water into the skin, giving that immediate plump, reflective look

My take:
gives that immediate glassy skin look, but it’s more temporary glow than long term hydration. I do like it under makeup during the day though

My honest rating:
7/10

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence (not toner)

Key ingredients/what it does:
fermented black rice extract, probiotics, niacinamide, humectants
Reduces transepidermal water loss, barrier support, calms low grade inflammation

My take:
this is subtle but smart. My skin feels calmer and more resilient especially after treatments and I love the mist

Pros/Cons
✓ great for sensitive or reactive skin
✕ not a big wow hydration moment (but it’s a milky essence not a toner)

My honest rating:
7.5/10

Anua Rice 70+ Ceramide Glow Milky Toner

Key ingredients/what it does:
70% rice extract, ceramides, niacinamide, humectants, light emollients
Hydration, barrier support, dewy finish

My take:
I love this for hydration. The difference is noticeable!! My skin stays soft and glowy without feeling heavy

Pros/Cons
✓ nice balance of glow and moisture
✕ might feel like too much if you’re very oily

My honest rating:
8.5/10

Celimax Dual Barrier Creamy Toner

Key ingredients/what it does:
Ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids, B5, allantoin
Barrier repair, long lasting hydration, helps prevent dehydration and improves water retention

My take:
This actually feels like skincare and not just an instant glow. When my skin is dry or sensitive this makes a difference

Pros/Cons
✓ long lasting hydration, barrier repair
✕ I don’t see any cons unless you’re very oily (but that does for a lot of these)

My honest rating:
9.5/10
