The Best Tips for Living Well in 2025

New year, new you… I know many of us are looking to start new diets and exercise routines to kick off the new year. But let’s be honest, it’s hard to nail down a whole routine and lifestyle change in just a few weeks.

So, I wanted to share some of the best tips that celebrity trainer (and my close friend) Harley Pasternak and I chatted about on the pod (you can listen to the full episode here). These are the universal fundamentals that will help jump start your healthiest year yet when it comes to nutrition, fitness, and implementing new routines:

Start Small

Instead of doing an intense 180, start by changing maybe one or two things about your current routine. If you start by completely changing your entire routine, odds are it won’t stick.

Daily Steps

Harry is a big proponent of getting in your daily steps… So, kick off your new routine by walking around the block that you live on every morning before you leave the house. Then when you come home, walk around the block again before you go in the house… This is one little change that’s 1. realistic and 2. attainable — let this be the first thing you start week 1.

Slowly Add in New Elements to Your Routine

If you’re looking to build a routine that will actually last, then aim to add in something new each week (don’t force an intense lifestyle change all at once) Week 1 can be daily steps. Week 2 could be adding in a high-protein breakfast each morning Week 3 could be implementing a nutritious lunch… you get the idea!

I know that health advice can be overwhelming … this is no secret and it’s something that I talk about on my podcast all the time. There’s a million different experts out there telling you a million different things to try. So, by starting small, you can actually build a routine that’s sustainable.

When you’re starting to lay the foundation for a new routine, identify your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to your health + wellness. Are you overall more active but struggle to prioritize your nutrition or vice versa? Harry suggests tackling your weaknesses first… If you live a more sedentary then making daily steps your top priority! By pointing our your weak spots, you can then evaluate your current lifestyle and what your goals are for 2025.
