My Favorite Ways to Wind Down Before Bed

With all the stressors occurring throughout the day (work, email, texts, traffic, relationships, etc.) it’s no wonder our minds and bodies need a little extra time to wind down at the end of the day. If you find yourself tossing and turning before bed, then you might want to take a look at your nighttime routine. Not getting good quality sleep can lead to a slew of health issues because a lot of things happen to our bodies while we sleep. Our immune system gets stronger, our body releases toxins, things transition from short-term to long-term memory, our muscles grow, and our hormones are regulated all while we’re sleeping.

So, I take my sleep VERY seriously. My nighttime routine is extensive, but I find that if I practice good sleep habits, then everything else just falls into place. So, I’m sharing a few of my favorite ways to wind down before bad that make falling asleep so much easier…

1. Infrared Sauna Blanket

I love using my infrared sauna blanket before bed. Similar to taking a hot bath or shower, it lowers your core temperature which is a circadian sleep signal. Not to mention, it has a ton of other benefits like soothes and relaxes muscles, boosts metabolism, improves circulation for clearer skin, lowers stress, and so much more. Plus, I always feel amazing afterwards which is just an added bonus. You can use my code BLONDE25 for 25% off.

2. LED Face Mask

I absolutely love my Omnilux LED face mask! My favorite time to use it is before bed because I can easily multitask while I’m wearing it. I’ve noticed a huge difference in the overall appearance of my skin. It reduces redness and pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and promotes healthier, younger-looking skin. Plus, you can do it in the comfort of your own home which is so convenient.

3. Read a Book

I’m sure this one comes as no surprise but I find that turning off my screens and TV before bed help me relax and wind down so much. Instead, I’ll pick up my kindle and read for a bit while I’m wearing my Onmilux face mask. PS – If you’re looking for a good book to read, I’ve saved all my favorite books to my Amazon Storefront!

4. Meditate or Stretch Using My Infrared PEMF Mat

If I wasn’t able to squeeze in a workout or I had to skip my morning meditation, then I love stretching or meditating before bed on my Infrared PEMF Mat. For those of you who don’t know, PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field which sends magnetic energy into the body. These energy waves work with your body’s natural magnetic field to improve sleep, induce relaxation, soothe muscles, boost energy and enhance focus. Use my code BLONDE25 for 25% off.

5. Do my nighttime skincare routine

Believe it or not, I look forward to my nighttime skincare routine. It’s taken me years to dial it in and I’ve finally found something that works for me. That being said, I find it super relaxing to take my time and go through each step. Sometimes I’ll even light a candle and play some relaxing music in the background to make it feel like I’m at the spa.

6. Drink magnesium

The viral sleepy girl mocktail has taken the internet by storm, and for good reason. Magnesium is amazing for sleep, along with a plethora of other benefits. It reduces the stress hormone cortisol, increases melatonin, and helps regulate the central nervous system. I love my NED magnesium – it’s vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO. Plus it tastes amazing and you can get 15% off with code BLONDE.
